Ellie Goulding – Halcyon Days

Ellie-Goulding-Halcyon-Days-2013-1200x1200

On August 26th, Ellie Goulding will reissue her platinum selling album “Halcyon” with ten new tracks. With writers such as Ryan Tedder, Nate Ruess and Bonnie Mckee(writer for Kesha and Katy Perry), Ellie Goulding looks to continue her success with this reissue. With hit songs such as “Lights” and “Anything Could Happen” as well as featuring on Calvin Harris’ “I Need Your Love”, Goulding looks to continue to establish herself in the pop/dance territories.

The first single off of “Halcyon Days” is “Burn” released in July. “Burn” is exactly what you would expect from Ellie Goulding as it is a pop/dance track. Originally penned for Leona Lewis, Goulding really takes this song and makes it completely her own. It is extremely catchy and may be one of her best songs yet. The electronic sound is reminiscent to her biggest hit “Lights” but this track is much more upbeat and radio friendly. So far “Halcyon Days” looks like it will be a big hit in the UK and possibly a big hit in the US as well. “Burn” has been doing well in the US so we shall see what the rest of the reissue has to offer.
