“Double rainbow? But what does it mean?”
The famous question is finally being answered: it means a new Katy Perry song! The pop star is keeping it colorful, moving from the “Complete Confection” to prismatic perfection in the sky (Skittles endorsement, anyone?!) with a newly finished sure-to-be-a-hit “Double Rainbow.”
Sorry to build you up just to bring you back down, but the song isn’t available for listening yet. It will, however, be on Perry’s new album, which she says is about halfway done. Perry is punctual and motivated, so as long as her team remains the same, we should be hearing it in no time! The songstress stated:
When I put myself on a timeline, when I tell the record company when I want to release the album, that’s when the race starts…That’s when I put pressure on myself.
“Double Rainbow” was created along with songwriter Bonnie McKee. The story of how the song came to be is extremely deep and intricate, as told by KP:
She came in from a yoga class and said, ‘I want to write a song called ‘Double Rainbow.’ So we have a song called ‘Double Rainbow.’
Absolutely riveting. All jokes aside, I’m expecting a fun (hopefully) summer jam with a crazy music video like Perry always gives to us. The “double rainbow” viral video is old news now, but if anyone can bring the trend back, it’s Katy Perry.
