Yup, you read that correctly, Daft Punk, who just began streaming their new album, “Random Access Memories,” is “supposed to really suck.”

My sentiments exactly, Taylor Swift.

My sentiments exactly, Taylor Swift.

All together now:

Who SAYS that?!

Now, allow me to explain.  After “Random Access Memories” was premiered the other day, GQ caught up with the Daft Punk duo, Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, for an extensive interview, where they discussed growing older and how the quality of their music is and has been affected.  Bangalter stated:

“We’re making music for twenty years. How many bands and acts do you have that are still making good music after twenty years? It always sucks—almost always, you know?”

While de Homem-Christo added:

“So our new album is supposed to really suck.”

Welp, that’s ONE way to promote your new music, I suppose.  You can check out the full interview here, and stream the full album to see if it “really sucks” here!
