When I first heard about Skrillex & A$AP Rocky‘s new video for “Wild For The Night,” I must admit, I was skeptical. “Wild For The Night,” while no doubt a fantastic song, comes across as a typical party track, and I was expecting nothing less than a full-out rager to be documented in the video. Imagine my surprise when the first two minutes of the song are completely music-free and focuses not on partying, but the poverty in the Dominican Republic, where the video was shot. “Wild For The Night” shows Skrillex and A$AP Rocky hanging out with some of the locals, and follows a young boy with a gun around his neighborhood, showing the inner-workings of the hierarchy amongst the town’s inhabitants. Around four minutes in is when things start to get crazy, with Skrillex and Rocky showing the crowd a good time with rhymes about grills, girls, and glocks. Overall, solid video for a bangin’ single.
