Electronic duo Crystal Castles are giving us all of the goods today. They have released their music video for “Affection” off their latest album (III), as well as added new tour dates, many of which include Depeche Mode. And my affection grows.
Watching the video for “Affection” is like watching a pay-per-view channel that you didn’t pay for back in the day before digital television took over. The colors are off, the picture is fairly unclear, and the screen goes completely fuzzy just as you’re starting to make something out. It has a vintage feel with 2013 edginess made clear when vocalist Alice Glass and producer Ethan Kath appear on screen. Glass’ apathetic demeanor and blank stares work perfectly with the video and the dreamy song, which immediately had me in a trance. The two, along with Stephen Agnew who edited the video together, aced it.
Crystal Castles will also be on tour from now until mid-October (I need a nap just thinking about it), and with even more dates just added, you have no excuse to miss out.
