While everyone was wondering about Sheeran and serial celeb dater Taylor Swift after they collaborated on “Everything Has Changed,” Swift was reportedly introducing the red-headed romancer to her good pal, Gomez.  The introduction must have gone over well, because Sheeran was recently spotted leaving Gomez’s house, guitar in hand.  Could there be a collab on the way?  Maybe he just knew that even a starlet like Selena couldn’t resist his musical charms.

We have our fingers crossed for this pairing, mostly because we’d like to see Gomez with someone who isn’t a complete dou–, uh, nuisance.  Plus, we think the two would be strangely (and absolutely) adorable together.  Am I getting too imaginative?  I don’t think I’ve crossed the line yet, considering I can’t come up with a better couple name than Edlena.

Anyway, Ed, if this is all just a made up rumor, it’s time to make it a reality.

The “Good Girl Gone Bad” is finding herself under fire after getting into an altercation with an overzealous fan at a Birmingham, UK concert recently, where she ended up smacking the RiRi lover with her microphone.  The action was in response to the fan apparently refusing to let Rihanna’s arm go after she stepped into the audience to shake hands during her performance of “We Found Love.”  After the concert, the songstress took to her official twitter page to express her outrage:

“Purpose! That b— won’t let me go!”

Welp, that’s certainly ONE way to get your point across.  Although, next time, probably just let security handle it, okay? Great. Now, go sit in the corner, you’re officially in time out for the next hour until you learn to use your words, young lady!

Aaand that’s how we ended up with a video featuring smoke-shooting crotches and strutting with stuffed animals (some of which were alive at one point).  And obviously some girl-on-girl wrestling/grabbing.

I know, Lucille, I know.

Cyrus pops in her golden grills and sensually humps her white duvet so we know she’s ready to party, as friends eat money sandwiches and slice off their fingers in what I hope was supposed to be an excessively fake stunt, pink paint blood aside.  Twerking is never absent for too long, whether it’s appearing in alphabet soup, or in one of the 82375 shots we are given of Miley’s ass (in case we forgot she had one or something).  She also sticks her tongue out at us when it’s not being stuck down the throat of a doll.  What a rebel!  Hannah Montana, who?

PEOPLE DON’T FORGET.

The most confusing part of it all for me is that the song itself is just not that exciting.  A video like this should be accompanied by a real club banger, and “We Can’t Stop” is anything but that.  Anyway, I’m clearly not impressed with Miley’s try-hard antics or attitude, but it’s not like she can stop, you know?  Plus, I don’t think she wants to.

Britney Spears plans to change up her sound for her eighth album. Does that mean all the catchy songs such as “Toxic” and “If U Seek Amy” going to be no more? A month to date after it leaked online by unknown sources, Britney Spears’ bubblegummy new single “Ooh La La” was officially released Monday morning on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show. It seemed to be a hit everywhere it played!

The song is Spears’ contribution to the upcoming soundtrack for “The Smurfs” and will play over the end credits when the movie hits theaters July 31. Britney Spears explained that the reason she did it was for her sons, who love “The Smurfs.” AWWW sweet! I wish someone one sang a cover of a song from my favorite movie. Any volunteers?

Spears announced the ditty two months ago, calling it “Smurftastic.” Now hurry we have to go put the phrase in the urban dictionary. The track does indeed slide into that Smurf-y sweet spot of sugary synth-pop; the pop superstar raps a little bit in the pre-chorus, and then concludes on the refrain, “Baby come with me and be my ooh-la-la.” Yes, sounds sugary sweet to me!

On Seacrest’s radio show Britney Spears went on to explain the meaning behind the song:

“I think it doesn’t really certainly mean a certain phrase or anything, but it’s about feeling good. Like you make me feel like ‘ooh la la’ like when a guy makes you giddy… it’s more of a feeling.”

Spears also mentioned to Seacrest on the progress of her upcoming eighth album, which she and previously announced producer Will.i.am are in the “beginning stages” of formulating. I love Will.i.am!

“I want to definitely take this album and have a new approach with it and make it a little different than anything I’ve ever done. Will has a lot of really interesting different tracks that I’ve listened to that are really cool that I haven’t actually written on yet, but there’s a lot of guitar and I think people will be surprised with this album. It’s gong to be really different.”

As to when fans will be able to hear more new music, Spears added, “by the end of the year.” She also revealed that her much-discussed Las Vegas residency still isn’t locked in yet. “It’s quite possible, yes!” Britney Spears in Las Vegas?! What happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas!

BSB released their brand new song, “In A World Like This,” today, which is the title track off their upcoming eighth studio album.  The guys “couldn’t wait” any longer to premiere it, so here we are!  I’ll get straight to my thesis: it’s alright.  The acoustic guitar introduction intrigued me, but when the beat “dropped” (it’s not that serious) it revealed itself as yet another predictable pop tune.  Of course, the pop part was to be expected, but I was blindly hoping for some excitement thrown in there from some of the most well known boy banders ever.  The word “salvation” then popped up in the first verse, and I immediately recognized just how “Christian band” the whole thing sounded, even with lyrics aside.  I’m sort of doubting that being the goal.

The phrase “free fallin'” also made a few appearances throughout the song, which is now and forever associated with the Tom Petty song.  Instead of feeling like a thoughtful homage, I just sort of thought, “why?”  I was also a little distracted by the excessive use of autotune.  Come on, boys, we know you can sing, at least go easy on the effects.

Again, the song is alright.  I am being judgmental, but that’s why I’m here.  I guess that I was hoping for more from writer/producer Max Martin, who also worked with the Backstreet Boys on mega-hits including “I Want It That Way” and “Quit Playin’ Games (With My Heart).”  But, hey, this is only one song.  I know I’m still excited for the record’s release on July 30 to see what else BSB has in store for us…are you?

This Fall, Drake will be going on the “Would You Like A Tour” tour in support of his third studio album “Nothing Was The Same” set to be released later this year. Joining him on tour will be Miguel as well as rapper Future. The tour will be visiting 41 cities mainly in the US but willalso be making stops in Drake’s very own Canada.

There also may be more special guest joining Drake and Miguel on stage but that has yet to be disclosed. It seems like it would be a sight to see mainly because Drake and Miguel do seem to compliment each other. Who knows maybe Miguel is set to feature on tracks new album.

Let’s just hope no leg dropping is set to occur during one of Miguel’s performances.

Tickets are set to go on sale this Friday.

I have never met an Ellie Goulding cover that I didn’t end up replaying over and over again. With some of her more recent covers being Active Child’s “Hanging On” and The Weeknd’s “High For This”, Alt-J’s “Tessellate” may be one of the best covers Goulding has done so far.

Goulding worked with producer Xaphoon Jones, who also produced her “High For This” cover, to help create the toned-down, R&B, minimalistic version of the original electro-rock tune. Her ethereal soprano vocals float over the stripped down beat, with a jazzy feel given by a quick saxophone breakdown in the middle of the song. In addition to Goulding’s atmospheric cover, she released a black and white music video to accompany the song. Goulding’s vocal cover and music video are distinctively different than the original “Tessellate”, but that hasn’t seemed to bother anybody. The band members of Alt-J recognize Goulding’s cover as a “spiritual sequel” to their song and video, with a certain special raunchiness of Goulding’s own.

Jonas Brothers are back with a whole new single this time around. Ready to put your pom poms down for Jonas Brothers new tunes? June 25th  the group’s new single, “First Time,” will be released so only a month and half to go.

The track supposedly was leaked earlier this week and the guys addressed the unauthorized first listen on Thursday. So some lucky listeners got to hear it first……. Shame on you! No I’m kidding. Or am I?

This is how the Jonas Brothers reacted to the leak:

“Crazy the #firsttime was on iTunes early but for everyone that didn’t get it make sure to grab it on the 25th!!” Kevin wrote, with Joe tweeting, “Well looks like our next single first time was put on iTunes for 12 hours [on Wednesday]. . . … For those of you who are quick and downloaded it.. Congrats hope you like it. For the rest of you.. JUNE 25th!!!”

Whereas the band opted for the up-tempo “Pom Poms” to set the tone for their 2013 album release. The trio will drop the less peppy “First Time” as the next cut off the still-untitled follow-up to 2010’s Vines Lines and Trying Times.

Weeks after they drop “First Time,” the guys will kick off their summer tour on July 10 in Chicago. The Brothers each tweeted a picture that their opening act will be no other than Karmin.
