TLC Talk Reunion Tour, New Music on the Way

One of the best selling/most popular female groups of all time, TLC, isn’t done making and performing music just yet.  We knew that a TLC biopic was on the way, but with the announcement of the now-duo performing at this year’s Mixtape Festival, we needed some sort of explanation.  Thankfully, Chilli (Rozonda Thomas) gave Billboard some answers.

Chilli and T-Boz (Tionne Watkins) have been busy with solo projects, including two different reality programs, What Chilli Wants and Totally T-Bozbut feel ready to work together again:

This is going to be a great year for TLC. It’s just time. It’s time for us to do everything.

She stated that the two are planning more concerts in the near future, which will incorporate Lisa “Left-Eye” Lopes, the group’s third member who tragically passed away in 2002.  They will, however, NOT being going the hologram route, as many have been speculating:

I don’t even know how that got out. We never said that was something we’re gonna do…It’s definitely something we thought about, like years ago. But I think it’s very creepy. We’re still in the creative process in figuring out how we’re going to involve Lisa and stuff like that.

We’re glad to hear that the fierce and talented “Left Eye” still holds a significant spot in TLC, and we know her group mates will make sure that she’s done justice, whether it be through audio, video, or whatever crazy technology is thought up next.

TLC also revealed that they have been working on new music with Austin and J. Cole, which will be the first batch of new tunes from the duo in ten years.  It could be longer, considering there is no release date or concrete information yet, but here’s to hoping it’s soon!
