She & Him will be bringing us their third studio album of original material, Volume 3, on May 7th, and have graciously given us a little taste. A track entitled “Never Wanted Your Love” is the first single, and it is now streaming for your listening pleasure! The song immediately declares itself as a foot-tapper and a singalong with a beat you can clap to and Zooey Deschanel’s elegant vocals repeating “I never wanted your love but I needed it all” in the chorus.

Deschanel and M. Ward prove to us again that She & Him is an act to look out for, because after one listen, you’ll find songs like “Never Wanted Your Love” in your head for the rest of the day. A quote from the lyrics is “all I know is that I’m tired of being clever,” but we sure hope that’s not really the case, because if the rest of the album carries the same creativity as this song, things are looking excellent for us listeners.
