Hey guys, you know what sounds like fun? We should run onstage and assault a legendary musician! Oh my God, you know what would be even better?! If the musician was chronically ill (with ankylosing spondylitis, to be exact,) and could barely defend himself! Oh my God, you know what would be even BETTER!? If the legendary chronically ill musician was also celebrating his 62nd birthday! That would be the BEST!
Oh, wait, that’s NOT awesome? That’s NOT an okay thing to do? That’s actually a REALLY HORRIBLE THING TO DO?! Whodathunk?!
Apparently, some tool at the Motley Crue show in Canada this past Saturday didn’t get the freakin’ memo, because the guy decided to slither past security and charge onstage before tackling Mick Mars in the middle of a performance of “Primal Scream.” \ Predictably, the show was immediately stopped while the man was taken down by security, and Mars was helped offstage by a roadie. The rest of the band immediately rushed to defend Mick, with drummer Tommy Lee screaming:
“What the f*ck is wrong with you, you f*cking idiot?!”
Frontman Vince Neil quickly chimed in, telling the audience:
“We might be back.”
Bassist Nikki Sixx took a more physical approach, kicking Mick’s attacker with his boot before running offstage to help. After the performance, Mick took to his official twitter page to ease fan’s worries, saying:
“Thank all of you for your concerns about me being knocked down last night. I’m alright; nothing broken. My bodyguard Rhyno got two busted ribs.”
…A dude named RHYNO got beat up? How big was this guy?!
Anyway, I’m so glad to hear that Rhyno and Mars are okay, Crue would not be the same without him. Here’s to hoping for a speedy recovery for both!
