Julian Lennon, son of late Beatle John Lennon, and Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler have just released a video together for “Someday,” and it’s the most tranquil thing you’ll see all day. Lennon and Tylers’ voices blend seamlessly in the chill, catchy tune that preaches love, acceptance, and peace in any and all cultures. When asked about “Someday,” Lennon explained:
“2013 highlights another year of inspiration for me, in regards to my music, photography and philanthropy work, and ‘Someday’ is a reflection of that”.
It certainly shows in the video for the track, a montage of some of the world’s most famous peacemakers and humanitarians floating in between multicolored clouds. It also gives tribute to Julian’s father, John, by showing vintage Beatles footage in between showing the making of the song in the recording studio with Steven Tyler, who recently explained the…interesting…way the track came about:
“A lot of stuff happens in L.A. We were staying at a hotel where Julian Lennon was staying, and one morning I was singing in the shower. The window was open, and I just heard, ‘Steven?’ We brought him over to the studio and he sang on the opening track.”
However the song started, it certainly worked: “Someday” is an instant hit and has the potential to be a classic motto for peace and love worldwide. Amazing job, Julian, you’re father would be SO proud!
