Jesse Dee Revives 60s Soul Sound

Jesse Dee On My Mind

Boston based blue-eyed soul singer Jesse Dee returns with his sophomore album On My Mind / In My Heart in which he offers self-penned throwback soul sounds reminiscent of the 60s and 70s. Similar to his previous release, Bittersweet Batch, but slicker and smoother in sound, the songs are well-written, authentically arranged, and sound like they could be the soundtrack for a movie based in that era. At times you might wonder, is it too retro? Does it become kitsch? But there are enough indie elements at play to make it an album of substance. Fans of 60s soul and R&B greats such as Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, and Jackie Wilson are sure to find something here to love. The 11 track package is full of funky good and smooth soul vibes. Diggin’ the retro album art.
