It’s a fact of life: Steel Panther is one of the most romantic bands out there.  With songs like “Weenie Ride,” “It Won’t Suck Itself, (featuring Chad Kroeger)” and “Asian Hooker,” it only made sense for the heavy metal hair heros to be invited to perform at what some (AKA comedians) are saying will be the “wedding of the century:” the wedding of Chad Kroeger (Nickleback,) and Avril Lavigne.  The couple that the world has affectionately named “Chadvril,” will be joined in Canadian holy matrimony later this year, and even got a personal video message from Satchel and Lexxi Foxx of Steel Panther accepting their wedding invitation.  In Panther’s usual hilarious form, the duo declares, “WE’RE GOING TO A WEDDING!” Satchel takes it one step further by explaining:

“We’ve never been to a wedding before … obviously nobody in our band has ever gotten married, none of our parents ever got married. I don’t even know who my Dad is.”

D’aww, Satchel, you always know just what to say.

Well Happy Friday to us indeed! Heavy metal comedy kings, Steel Panther, have just released an in-studio update on their newest album!  The video shows frontman Michael Starr explaining how the new sure-to-be incredible album is coming along, and when we can expect more Panther, all with guitarist Satchel behind the camera.  They also introduce us to their producer Jay Ruston (Anthrax, Stone Sour) and give us their opinions on their follow-up project and tour to their last release, “Balls Out.”  Panther recently announced a slew of US show dates, hilariously titled, “The S.T.D. Heavy hair metal kings Steel Panther have finally announced the dates of their upcoming STD (Spread The Disease) Tour!  The talented foursome is set to kick off the tour in Orlando, Florida on April 13th for WJRR’s Earthday Birthday, which sexy bassist Lexxi Foxx is particularly thrilled about, gushing:

“What better way to kick off the S.T.D. tour than with a concert to celebrate the Earth’s birthday?!”

Panther, who are busy recording their third studio album with Jay Ruston (Anthrax, Stone Sour, Meatloaf,) will be on tour for over a month, both preforming as headliners and supporting acts in festivals like Ozzfest, Rock On The Range, Carolina Rebellion, and Welcome To Rockville.  You can check out the full list of tour dates below!

As I’ve stated before, I LOVE 80’s hair metal, and Steel Panther are some of the best.  So, with that being said, you probably guess how badly I freaked out when I heard that all four of my boyfriends the legends are working on a new album! Let’s just say…

The bands fox of a drummer, Stix Zadinia, dropped the fantastic news via twitter this past Friday, saying:

The album is the follow-up to 2011’s “Balls Out,” which debuted at #40 on the Billboard 200. The record was a smash hit with fans, with the group showing both the classic heavy metal Panther sound on tracks such as “17 Girls In A Row,” while also showing their sensitive side in songs like “Weenie Ride,” which is widely considered to be one of the greatest love songs of all time.  After “Balls Out,” Panther released their first-ever concert DVD, “British Invasion,” which followed the band around for two years on their first albums “Feel The Steel” tour and saw rave reviews.

The newest as-of-now untitled album has no release date yet, but I have no doubt that we’ll get plenty more shockers teasers from their twitter.  Make sure to keep an ear out for more news right here, and remember: DEATH TO ALL BUT METAL!
