As I Lay Dying’s Tim Lambesis Pleads Not Guilty in Murder-for-Hire Case

Tim Lambesis of metalcore outfit As I Lay Dying has pleaded not guilty to a solicitation-of-murder charge after being arrested for plotting to have his estranged wife killed.  Whoa.

Prosecutors have stated that Lambesis had propositioned an undercover detective to murder his wife, and mother of his children, Meggan Lambesis.  There is allegedly a recording of the AILD frontman handing the detective an envelope containing cash, photos of Meggan, and home gate codes.  He is also being accused of telling the “hit-man” to commit the murder while Lambesis was with their children, so that he would not be suspected.  This supposed plan (thankfully) went down the drain very quickly.

Deputy District Attorney Claudia Grosso also claimed that Lambesis was previously unfaithful to his wife and had emailed her saying that he no longer loved her, and no longer believed in God, the main influence of his music.  The rest of As I Lay Dying posted a message on Facebook to their confused fans:

To our fans,

As we post this, the legal process is taking its course and we have no more information than you do. There are many unanswered questions, and the situation will become clearer in the coming days and weeks. We’ll keep you informed as best we can.

Our thoughts right now are with Tim, his family, and with everyone else affected by this terrible situation – and with our fans, whom we love and draw strength from.

Thank you for understanding, and as always, for your support of As I Lay Dying.

It looks like we’re all in the dark for now, but hopefully the truth will see the light soon.
