Swedish dreamboat DJ Avicii has just dropped a stunning new single with soulful crooner Aloe Blacc titled, “Wake Me Up,” and it’s the LAST thing you would expect! The unusually calm, folk-inspired track has been described as “Nashville Goes EDM,” and is pretty much a perfect example of “something you wouldn’t think would work…but does.” Sounding like a mixture of Mumford & Sons, “Icky Thump” era White Stripes, and Emeli Sande, “Wake Me Up” captures a hard-to-accomplish combination of southern twang with classic, rage-your-face-off EDM beats.
