In response to the news of Margaret Thatcher’s death, many Britons celebrated by tweeting “Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead” – a reference to the scene in the Wizard of Oz movie when the munchkins found out the wicked witch was dead. A Facebook group then launched a campaign to take the song to the top of the UK music charts. The song has since shot up to the Top of the UK iTunes sales chart where it’s currently #2 as I type this.
