I’ll be the first to tell you that I had no idea Caleb Johnson won American Idol. I haven’t watched that show in many years. And if I had known he was on AI, it probably would have tainted my opinion of his music. Isn’t that a horrible thing to say? But it’s the truth. I’m so over plastic television talent shows and having to sit through all of the bad performances and public interest segments to get to the bits of good music. Who has enough hours in the day to do that? Sorry, it just doesn’t hold enough interest for me.
Caleb’s new album, Testify, on the other hand, I find very interesting. Sailing Away is the lead-off track from the album and it literally rocks. Southern flavored rock with screaming guitars and outrageous energy. Play it loud.
